MISS DIG employee Heather Batchelor, a victim of Domestic Violence, was taken from us on September 3, 2014. Heather was a CSR in the Northern office and had been with MISS DIG for thirteen years. Her husband, Kallay Batchelor, was charged with murder and found guilty on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
On July 1, 2015 Kallay was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He is not allowed any contact with the kids until they are adults(18 years old), at that point it is up to them. He is not allowed to have any contact with Heather’s immediate family either. From the Delta County Jail he will be sent to the receiving center in Jackson, then will be placed in his permanent home away from Escanaba to serve out his sentence.
Heather left behind two children, an six-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, who are now in the care of their grandmother. During this difficult time, MISS DIG’s Employee Activities Committee is accepting donations for Heather’s Children. ALL donations will go directly to her children.
